Weekend Highlights

This past weekend was a good mix of excitement, fun and some downtime, all of which I needed. It started Friday night when my boyfriend came to visit for the weekend. We ended up staying up way too late watching the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight, which was not worth it in my opinion. Four hours went by slowly and the coverage kept cutting out because of how many people watched it simultaneously. Everyone, including myself, wanted Mike Tyson to knock the lights out of Jake Paul so we were very disappointed by the outcome.

Saturday, I got up bright and early to help set up for the Think Pink 5K. It felt great to be part of something meaningful, supporting breast cancer awareness. After everything was in place, I joined in and walked the 5K myself, finishing in just under an hour. It wasn’t about speed; it was about the experience and the cause which left me feeling good. The weather was also perfect for the 5K, it was chill but just chilly enough to where walking warmed me up. Later that day, my boyfriend and I dressed up for my semi-formal. It’s always fun to see everyone looking their best and to spend the night dancing and laughing with friends.

Sunday was the perfect relaxing day. We hung out and watched football, which is always entertaining. My favorite game of the day was the Bills vs. Chiefs matchup. Watching the Chiefs finally lose was so satisfying and I’m not even a huge Bills fan, but it was a great game. On the flip side, I was bummed that the Bengals lost. Joe Burrow played so well, and it made me upset to see all his hard work not pay off.

Overall, this weekend was perfect with a little adventure, a lot of fun and just enough chill time to recharge. It’s weekends like this that remind me how important it is to balance work and play, especially during busy times.

  1. Sounds like you had a great weekend! I also stayed up to watch the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight and I agree it wasn't worth it. I had high hopes for Mike Tyson so it was disappointing that he lost, but the fight was just boring in general. I enjoyed the girls' fight before theirs way more!

  2. This sounds like the perfect weekend! I caught a few clip of the fight and was also disappointed by the fight and the outcome. I could not bring myself to watch the full thing. Also, I saw pictures from the Think Pink 5K and it looked like a blast! It's awesome you were able to help put on an event that is for such a great cause.

  3. This sounds like you had a good weekend. I also stayed up to watch the fight and wasn't a fan of the outcome as well. I wish I wouldn't have stayed up either. The 5K sounded like it was just the thing you needed to have a blast!
