Sweater Weather

Fall is probably one of my favorite seasons with the cool air, the pumpkin coffee and cozy smelling candles. However, it hasn't felt like fall with the current weather being 90 degrees and sunny each day. I know it is still August so it's technically still summer, but pumpkin spice is back at Starbucks so that means it's fall for me. I've always loved this time of year—the cozy sweaters, the warm drinks, and the perfect blend of chilly mornings and sunny afternoons. There's something about fall that just feels like a fresh start, even though it marks the end of the year.

Lately, I've been embracing the fall spirit by busting out my fall scented candles and filling my house with the warm smells of apple and pumpkin spice. I also have been thinking about baking some tasty pumpkin cookies that I used to make at home, but it has been so hot and I have been running around that I haven't been able to find the time to set aside and bake them. Another thing that is on my fall To Do list is to go to a pumpkin patch with my friends. I used to go all the time as a kid and had so much fun picking out my pumpkin to carve. I also really enjoy the animals they have there that you can pet like goats and sometimes even cows! Another fun thing to do there is the corn maze even though I find them a little creepy in the dark. I have seen too many horror movies where people get lost in corn mazes with creepy scarecrows.

I also mentioned that I love pumpkin coffee and I have been working on trying to get my hands on a pumpkin cream cold brew at Starbucks. During the first week of school, I had time before class and decided that I was going to stop by and get a coffee since it was on the way. My excitement quickly went away when I got there and discovered that they were out of pumpkin flavoring. I was very disappointed and was looking forward to getting a pumpkin cream cold brew since they got the fall flavors in but it will have to wait until a better day. I don't know if it is too early for me to be celebrating the festive fall season but I'm just too excited to wait. What is your favorite thing about fall?

  1. I was just complaining to my friends about the lack of sweater weather yesterday! It is always my favorite time of year, but this year I feel robbed. One of the things I've always loved about living in Michigan and Ohio is that we get all four seasons. However, in the past few years, they seem to be reaching less and less extremes. Sometimes it makes me nervous that they will eventually merge into what seems like one big neutral season because of global warming. I miss the snow!

  2. I truly believe it's never too early to start celebrating the best season! What I love most about fall is getting to wear cozy sweaters, sip on apple cider, and enjoy my favorite food: soup! As a fellow fall enthusiast, I can’t wait for the weather to cool down so I can fully embrace my favorite season. I also love baking and cooking, even if I’m not the best at it, and I have a list of recipes I’m excited to try once fall arrives. Also, those pumpkin cookies sound delicious!

  3. I am also very excited for fall! I love the cooler air and wearing cute fall outfits but I'm most excited for it being football season! I don't think fall is truly complete until you're curled up on the couch in a warm sweater with the house smelling like a pumpkin candle with a football game on! And the pumpkin cookies do sound delicious!
