Fall Break
Fall break is finally here, and it’s the perfect time to kick back and recharge. This weekend, I took full advantage of my time off with fun activities and catching up on some schoolwork.
First up, I hit the golf course. Playing golf in the fall is always a treat because the air is cool, and it’s not too cold yet to bundle up too much. The weather was just right this weekend—cool but not chilly—and the fall foliage made for some stunning views on the course. The only challenge was all the leaves on the ground, which made my ball disappear right in front of my eyes! I enjoyed playing with different teams and meeting new people. Whether I was putting in or just soaking in the scenery, it felt great to escape the stress of school for a bit.
After two days of playing in Lancaster, I headed home on Sunday, eager to sleep in my bed. There’s something special about home-cooked meals and having a queen-sized bed all to myself. On Monday, I continued the golf trend by heading out to watch the High School Division 1 State Tournament at a course near my house. My high school team qualified, so I went to support them and catch up with my old coach. It was a lot of fun, and I got to reconnect with many people I hadn’t seen in a while.
Of course, I couldn’t forget about my homework. While it would have been easy to put it off until after the break, I decided to get a head start. I set aside some time to review my notes and finish up a few assignments. It felt great to check things off my list without the usual last-minute stress. Plus, tackling my homework during the break meant I could relax when it was time to go back to school.
All in all, my fall break was the perfect balance of golf, good food and a little productivity. Thankfully, this week I don’t have much to do for school, but being home was the mid-semester break I needed to reset.
It sounds like you really made the most of your Fall break! I wish I could’ve gone golfing this weekend, but my schedule was packed. I also went home and completely agree—nothing beats home-cooked meals and your own bedroom. I also saw you won OAC Golfer of the Week—what an incredible achievement! Congratulations on your hard work!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a good fall break! I was able to go home for a quick two days this break and, you are a hundred percent right. A home-cooked meal and a night in your own bed is the best! I unfortunately am not a big golfer, but with the weather turning more cooler, I think I'll find myself outside more and enjoying the fall sports. I also love catching up with old teammates and coaches, usually finding myself heading to local swim meets whenever I am home for winter break. Overall, this sounded like both a much-needed and productive break for you!
ReplyDeleteI love golfing and the scenery involved with it! I always think of when my dad would take me out to the Tamarac course in Lima when I was young. I also agree that sleeping in your own bed after a delicious home-cooked meal is the best way to end the day.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great fall break! I personally love playing fall golf because the weather and scenery are beautiful, although I can relate to losing balls due to leaves. Also congrats on being OAC golfer of the week, that is a big achievement!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good way to spend fall break. I also enjoy golf and haven't gone since summer and need to go more as it is a good way to enjoy some time with friends. Also congrats on being named OAC golfer of the week!
ReplyDeleteI also spent a lot of fall break catching up on my homework. It feels like all my teachers gave us the same amount of work as a normal week we just only had 3 days to do it. Sometimes because of that I feel like the week after fall break is the worst. I'm glad you got to golf a lot! It sounds like you had a great break.
