Halloweekend
This past weekend was all about celebrating Halloweekend and
the Halloween spirit, and honestly, it was one for the books! My boyfriend and
I decided to do a couple's costumes this year. He was Bugs Bunny and I went as
Lola. We had ears, fluffy tails and basketball jerseys. It was a fun way to
kick off the weekend, and everywhere we went, I ran into some of my friends in
their costumes.
On Saturday, we decided to keep up the fall vibes and headed
to a pumpkin patch. It was fun walking through rows of pumpkins, looking for
the perfect one. We picked out a nice round one and brought them back to carve.
The best part was that it was the last weekend they were opening the pumpkin
patch, so we got almost a 20-pound pumpkin for only a dollar! We carved the
pumpkin on Sunday since we didn't have much going on and even saved the seeds
to roast later. I’d never made pumpkin seeds before, but they turned out so
good. My mom roasted them when I was younger, so I wanted to make some. I added
a little salt and snacked on them for the rest of the day.
Another thing I did on Saturday was hang out with my family
for "Dudes Day," a sorority event, and my dad and mom came up to hang
out. It was a blast having him here, showing him around, and just getting to
have a day with him. I signed us up to participate in a corn hole tournament
that they had, and we made it to the championships! Unfortunately, we didn't
win but I had so much fun and I was so happy we made it so far. My dad was
hyped about being a part of the college scene for the day, and it made the
weekend even more memorable.
All in all, Halloweekend was the perfect blend of festive, fun and chill. From dressing up as Bugs and Lola to carving pumpkins and roasting seeds, hanging with my roommates and having a father-daughter day, it was exactly what I needed to embrace fall and get into the Halloween spirit.
Wow that sounds like an awesome weekend! And getting a huge pumpkin for a dollar is an absolute steal, and I bet the pumpkin patch was so cute. Spending time with family is always a plus, too! Your dad probably loved getting to be in the college crowd and spend time with you all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun weekend! I love carving pumpkins but I haven't had time to this year, maybe I should start looking for some good deals on pumpkins like you found! My mom used to roast pumpkin seeds too and I always loved them! I'm glad you got to spend a day with your dad too, I'm sure he loved that as much as you did!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like such a fun weekend! As somebody who was able to see your Lola and Bugs Bunny costume in person, I loved it! Also, this was the perfect weekend to head to the pumpkin patch, as the weather was beautiful and it's a great way to celebrate the ending of October. I am also so glad that your parents were able to come down for your sorority event, it sounds like your dad had such a fun time. Overall, it sounds like this weekend was nothing short of fun activities and quality time spent with family and friends.
ReplyDeleteIm glad you had such a fun Halloweekend! Your couple's costume sounds so cute. Between that and carving pumpkins, it sounds like you did the whole Halloween package. It's great that you got to see your parents too! Sometimes thats all I need to put me in a better mood.
